Features and Benefits
Deep Penetrating Action:
Forms permanent waterproofing by sealing capillaries within the concrete.Dual-Side Protection:
Can be applied from both the positive and negative sides, making it suitable for structures exposed to constant moisture.Self-Healing Properties:
Can seal hairline cracks over time due to its crystalline growth mechanism.Enhanced Durability:
Becomes an integral part of the concrete, improving resistance to chemical attack and moisture ingress.Vapor Permeability:
Allows the surface to breathe, preventing moisture entrapment within the structure.Easy Application:
Can be used as a coating, dry shake, or as an integral waterproofing admixture at the batching stage.Non-Toxic & Environmentally Friendly:
Safe for potable water applications.
Application Instructions
Surface Preparation
Ensure the surface is clean, structurally sound, and free of contaminants such as dust, grease, oil, or laitance.
Pre-wet the concrete surface until it reaches Saturated Surface Dry (SSD) condition.
Repair visible cracks, joints, and honeycombs using a polymer-modified repair mortar.
For integral waterproofing applications, add CR-18 directly at the batching stage.
Application Methods
As a Crystalline Slurry Coating
Mix CR-18 with clean water using a mechanical mixer at low speed (~300–500 rpm).
Mixing Ratio (Water : Powder) – 0.28 to 0.30Apply the first coat using a stiff-bristle brush or slurry sprayer.
Apply the second coat within 4–6 hours, ensuring full coverage.
Protect the coated surface from direct sunlight, wind, and rain for at least 24 hours.
As a Dry Shake Application
Broadcast CR-18 powder uniformly onto freshly placed concrete.
Trowel-finish the concrete to ensure complete integration into the surface.
As an Integral Waterproofing Admixture
Add CR-18 to the concrete during batching.
Dosage: 0.8–1.0% by weight of cement.Mix thoroughly to ensure uniform dispersion.
Follow standard curing procedures to achieve the best results.
Curing
Cure for at least 5 days using a moist curing method.
Full crystalline development occurs over 28 days.
Precautions
Wear protective gloves, goggles, and dust masks during handling and application.
Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes.
In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention.
Avoid inhaling dust; use in well-ventilated areas.
Keep out of reach of children.
Limitations
Do not apply CR-18 on old or rendered surfaces.
Avoid application when temperatures are below 10°C or above 40°C.
Not recommended for surfaces previously treated with water-repellent coatings.
Do not apply over fresh concrete or mortar without proper mix design.
Full performance depends on correct mixing, surface preparation, and curing.
