Uses

  • Wear coat for sandwich running track systems
  • Suitable for WORLD ATHLETICS–certified athletic tracks
  • Application over cast-in-situ cushion base layers of SBR rubber granules and polyurethane binder
  • Application over prefabricated rubber rolls
  • Designed for EPDM granule broadcast systems (1–3 mm)
  • For outdoor sports flooring requiring high force reduction, flexibility, and durability

Advantages

  • Excellent Elastic & Tensile Strength:
Provides a strong, flexible surface capable of withstanding athletic performance impacts.
  • Self-Leveling Two-Component System:
Ensures smooth, uniform flow and finish on sports track surfaces.
  • Solvent-Free & Environmentally Friendly:
Safe to apply with reduced VOC emissions.
  • Superior UV & Weather Resistance:
Performs well under sunlight, heat, and varying climatic conditions.
  • Meets WORLD ATHLETICS Standards:
Certified for high-performance athletic track systems.
  • Cures Even at Low or High Temperatures:
Reliable curing behavior across diverse environmental conditions.

Application

  • Surface Preparation:
Ensure the surface is clean, dry, load-bearing, and free from dust, grease, oil, contaminants, or loose particles.
Remove dust and debris using a vacuum cleaner and squeegee.
  • Base Layer Requirements:
    Apply Carbothane PolyTrack P17 over:
  • Cast-in-situ cushion base (wet-pour SBR + PU binder)
  • Prefabricated rolls
The base layer must first be sealed with PU Polyseal 0907.
  • Mixing:
Ensure both components are between 10–40°C.
Stir Component A thoroughly, then add Component B while mixing until a homogeneous blend is achieved.
  • Application Process:
  • Use the mixed material within 20–30 minutes at 25°C.
  • Apply using a 5.5 mm V-notch trowel.
  • Follow with a spiked roller to release trapped air.
  • Broadcast EPDM granules (1–3 mm) over the surface before curing.
  • Curing & Protection:
  • Material cures in 24 hours at 25°C and 60% RH.
  • Protect from rain or water during the first hours of curing to prevent foaming.
  • After full curing, remove excess granules with an air blower.
  • Consumption:
    9.8 – 10.1 kg/m² depending on substrate porosity.
  • Application Tools:
  • V-notch trowel (5.5 mm)
  • Spiked roller
