Application
Using a soft cloth, brush, or pad, apply BW 15 directly to the surface of the wood using light, circular motions. Apply sparingly, just enough to coat the wood, and apply against the grain. In hard-to-reach areas, use cut-up rags, special pads, foam paint brushes, or smaller pieces. Allow the waxed wood to set naturally for a minimum of 5-7 minutes. Buff the wood using a clean, soft cloth. In carved or detailed areas of furniture, use a furniture brush or a similar object to buff the area. Apply a second coat of wax with a soft, clean rag, this time working with the grain of the wood. Use circular motions and apply only a thin layer of wax, ensuring all areas are covered equally. Allow the wax to set for 60-75 minutes. After buffing, allow the wood to sit overnight. Use a clean rag to buff the wood again, paying special attention to corners, hard-to-reach areas, and blemishes. Note: The more layers of wax applied and buffed, the glossier the finish will become. After using a wax treatment, it is not recommended to use a conventional varnish system unless the wood can be completely stripped and free of all wax coatings.
Preparation
On previously waxed surfaces, it is recommended to strip the old wax layers with BW 15 before sanding the exposed timber surface using a disc or paper graded as appropriate for the type of timber being treated. For oak, use a grain of 150; for pine, use a grain of 220. If necessary, the exposed wood can be stained before waxing using either a water-based or oil-based stain, but this must be allowed to dry thoroughly before applying the wax.
