External Facades & Glass Curtain-Wall Anchors
High-rise external concrete frames and large architectural glass facades face relentless exposure to wind shear, rain, and highway carbon emissions. While atmospheric carbonation rusts internal steel reinforcement and breaks concrete surfaces, Carbolink’s anti-carbonation coatings and high-strength structural epoxies create an impenetrable barrier that anchors heavy framework securely and shields exterior pillars.
The Problem
High-rise building facades suffer from ongoing environmental degradation. Outdoor concrete pillars are exposed to carbon dioxide ($CO_2$) and chloride ions from weathering. These gasses seep deep into the concrete’s pores, neutralizing its natural alkalinity. This chemical change causes the internal structural steel reinforcement to rust, resulting in concrete cracking, spalling, and weak anchoring zones for heavy glass curtain walls.
What is "Atmospheric Carbonation Degradation"?
Atmospheric carbonation occurs when $CO_2$ gas moves into the concrete’s microscopic pores and reacts chemically with calcium hydroxide. This reaction lowers the concrete’s pH level, destroying the passive alkaline shield that protects the internal steel rebar from rust. As the internal steel rebar rusts, it expands up to 6 times its original volume, generating massive internal pressure that fractures the surrounding concrete from the inside out.
— Carbolink Solution
Anti-Carbonation Shield & Structural Epoxying System
Coat AC 31 protective systems combined with EP 315 structural resin grouts—three high-performance layers built to anchor heavy external framework and halt carbonation damage.
— WHY CARBOLINK
Advantages of This System
Total CO_2 Gas Blocking
Formulated to block the penetration of carbon dioxide and chloride ions, completely halting internal rebar rust and concrete face cracking.
High Load Wind Resistance
Provides excellent structural anchoring strength, ensuring heavy architectural glass facades stay securely anchored against high wind pressures.
Weatherproof Breathability
Forms a waterproof outer layer that stops driving rain from soaking in, while allowing trapped internal moisture vapor to escape without bubbling the finish.
